Partners Hotels and B&Bs Can Join Forces With

No business is an island and this is especially true for hotels. We rely on a wide variety of other businesses for our own to run smoothly. Whether it's our direct suppliers or service industries such as laundry, or those a little more distant such as the areas attractions, entertainment, nightlife and restaurants, our success is intertwined with theirs.

So it makes sense to stay in contact with them and to keep up with their latest developments. For example, if a local Chinese restaurant is holding a Chinese New Year celebration, don't you think that your current (and potential future) guests would like to know? Of course they would! All it takes is a simple email blast to your mailing list and a potentially quiet weekend could be transformed into a sellout...assuming the right offer was made to the right audience.

Here's a list of potential partners that you should stay in touch with:

Local Attractions

This could be something as big as a theme park or something as local as a village show, with everything from restaurants, bars, nightclubs and theatres thrown in for good measure. A simple newsletter sent to your mailing list every month would give them plenty of food for thought!

Home Town Delights

If you have a large number of visitors from a certain area, whether it's because of a new budget airline opening a route to your area, or maybe because of links such as a twin town, keep your eye on local celebrations in their area. Then create packages that fit into your guests celebrations. It may even be worth taking on local students who speak the language to act as temporary staff! Team up with businesses in their area to display your leaflets or flyers.
